The Council held the first Crime Victims Rights Week ceremony in Dallas at the Dallas County Courthouse in April 1998.  We started by having ceremonies and presentations by victims of crime.  In 2003, we held the first Awards Presentation for people who go above and beyond to assist victims of crime as well as a training for law enforcement on Victims rights and services. In 2004, the Council sponsored a Safety Fair at a local mall. In April, 2005, along with a breakfast ceremony, the Council joined (MADD) Mothers Against Drunk Driving at their "Strides for Change"walk.
